Neonatal Encephalopathy is most commonly associated with hypoxia (poor oxygenation) resulting from trauma during the birth process. Symptoms are defined in part by a low APGAR scale where A stands for Appearance (ranging from blue to pale), P for Pulse rate, G of Grimace (response to stimulus), A for Activity, and R forRespiration. Depending on severity abnormal neurological functions may include seizure activity.
