This painless eye disease is characterized by loss of accurate sight in the center of the field of vision. Most common in seniors, age-related macular degeneration is due to damage of the retina (the tissue lining the inner surface of the eye). It exists in wet or dry forms.
Orthodox medicine has no cure and does not know the exact mechanism causing the disease’s development. Possible causes include aging, family history, plaque build-up, high glycemic index food consumption, high blood pressure, smoking, and damage from oxidative stress.
